Another week, another game and another step closer to a win for the Senior Side… The rain forecast for Saturday, for the most, stayed away making conditions almost pleasant. The Roosters were looking for good results in all grades and some were rewarded with their first wins for their respective sides for the year but only the Senior Colts were so rewarded. The Junior Colts were up against one of the form teams of the competition so far in the 2012 season and Pongy certainly came to play. The Roosters put up a gutsy performance but were no match really for the Muddies. Myponga are stormin, and good luck to them. |

Off to Mt Compass Peckings went on Saturday morning with a buoyant heart and thoughts of a good day to come. Driving through the gate it was apparent the Junior Colts were having a good day and were on top of the Bulldogs in their game. A good park was hard to find, signs of a good crowd and all looked good for a great day of footy. Unloading of the car was completed, as Pecking settled down to watch the Senior Colts who did not share the good fortunes of their younger mates as Mt Compass comfortably took the points resigning the lads to their 4th loss for the opening of the season. The Reserves had been topped up during the week with some other players being available to play A Grade for the first time for the year, |

A huge day for all concerned last Wednesday, ANZAC Day. Peckings was up with the sparrows for the Dawn Service, where it seems, despite the weather conditions, the gathering is growing each year. After raining most of the night the weather kinda held off for the service but managed to squeeze out some moisture near the closing of the ceremony. The Roosters Senior Colts gathered around the BBQ at the RSL and prepared the Gunfire breakfast for all that wished to partake and the bacon and egg sanga was a welcome start to the day as the rain eased once more. The 13mms of so of rain over night had made the oval soft |
